Efficiency Analysis with Educational Data: How to Deal with Plausible Values from International Large-Scale Assessments
نویسندگان
چکیده
International large-scale assessments (ILSAs) provide several measures as a representation of educational outcomes, the so-called plausible values, which are frequently interpreted ability range students. In this paper, we focus on how information should be incorporated into estimation efficiency student or school performance using data envelopment analysis (DEA). Thus far, previous studies that have adopted approach from ILSAs used only one available values an average all them. We propose based fuzzy DEA, allows us to consider whole distribution results proxy abilities. To assess extent our proposal offers similar those obtained in studies, empirical example PISA 2015. Our suggest estimated DEA strongly correlated with calculated just value measure. Therefore, conclude decide upon these options do not seem making significant error their estimates.

Plausible values: how to deal with their limitations.
Rasch modeling and plausible values methodology were used to scale and report the results of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's Programme for International Student Achievement (PISA). This article will describe the scaling approach adopted in PISA. In particular it will focus on the use of plausible values, a multiple imputation approach that is now commonly used in lar...
متن کاملHow to deal with large models?
The regulatory systems that allow cells to adapt to their environments are exceedingly complex, and although we know a great deal about the intricate mechanistic details of many of these systems, our ability to make accurate predictions about their system-level behaviors is severely limited. We would like to make such predictions for a number of reasons. How can we reverse dysfunctional molecula...
متن کاملAn Extension of Enhanced Russell Measure to deal with Interval Scale Data in DEA
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models with interval inputs and outputs have been rarely discussed in DEA literature. This paper, using the enhanced Russell measurement proposes an extended model which permits the presence of interval scale variables which can take both negative and positive values. The model is compared with most well-known DEA models of which include the CCR model, the BCC mo...
متن کاملHow to Deal with Heterogeneous Data?
In the context of Web 2.0, text content is often heterogenous (i.e. lexical heterogeneity). For instance, some words may be shortened or lengthened with the use of specific graphics (e.g. emoticons) or hashtags. Specific processing is necessary in this context. For instance, with an opinion classification task based on the message SimBig is an aaaaattractive conference!, the results are general...
متن کاملOn Matrix Sampling and Imputation of Context Questionnaires With Implications for the Generation of Plausible Values in Large-Scale Assessments
This article presents findings on the consequences of matrix sampling of context questionnaires for the generation of plausible values in large-scale assessments. Three studies are conducted. Study 1 uses data from PISA 2012 to examine several different forms of missing data imputation within the chained equations framework: predictive mean matching, Bayesian linear regression, and proportional...
